Mike Ramsey appearance at Frontier Field in Rochester

This August, Buffalo Sabres Hall of Fame defenseman Mike Ramsey was one of three members

of the 1980 USA “Miracle on Ice” team to appear at Frontier Field in Rochester to celebrate the

35th anniversary of Team USA winning Olympic Gold in men’s ice hockey at Lake Placid. Ramsey,

drafted 11th overall by the Sabres in 1979 after one season at the University of Minnesota, went

on to play 14 seasons in the Blue and Gold where he racked up 329 points and more than double

that number in penalty minutes.
